From Green To Pink

We promosed McKenzie a while ago that we would paint her room this summer. Well...Rob got the urge this weekend and surprised all of us by saying that today was the day! :) Her room was transformed this weekend from green to pink :) Here are some shots of the process.

Kylie is wondering, "What IS going on???"

How her room "used" to look....Green paint will soon be gone! :)

Helping unload her room :)

And more animals.... :)

When Mama's Gone.... :)

I found these, so I can only assume this is what happens when I am at work or at class :) Rob told me they were jumping the other day....Now, I see. :) At least he got some good action shots!

Horsey Rides and Oreos

The girls got this horse from Rob's mom :) They LOVE it. And, of course, what day would be complete without Oreos? :) We love our girls sooo much! :)

The Summer in Review --- So Far Behind, But I Posted LOTS of Pictures!!!

I am so far behind. I am sorry :( I have been so busy living life that I just haven't had the time or gumption to sit down and update. So...here goes. It's 4:24AM. I worked online from 1-3 on Tutor.com and just haven't fallen "tired" enough, so I took advantage of my time.
The summer has been wonderful for us. We've been blueberry picking twice, camping twice at a campground and numerous times in our backyard, many campfires, visits with friends, trips to zoos, playdates, library runs, and getting ready for the fall rush.
McKenzie starts preschool on Thursday!!!! So hard to believe my "baby" is all grown up. I know...I'll probably cry. A parent has to go with them on the first day. I'm letting Rob have this "first". I think I am more excited than she is :) They already have their first field trip planned and have a picture day. Isn't that cute? :) Kylie will be lost without big sis. They've grown so close and Kylie is like her little shadow. It's adorable.
Fall is starting with a passion. I start back up at Sylvan tomorrow and the 2nd of my 2 classes I have to take starts Wednesday. I start teaching at OCC again next week, too. I teach on Mondays and Fridays. Rob will be with the girls Monday-Wednesday nights, which is a transition for our family. He handles the girls so well, though, and it's so nice to know they are in good hands. I know the time has an effect on any marriage, so please be praying for us. For three days out of seven, we'll be like ships passing in the night. I don't know how parents who balance opposite work schedules 7 days/week do it.
Other than that, we plan to tackle fall with more bonfires and more family time. We are loving our girls more and more every day and their personalities are really coming through. Enjoy looking through all the pictures...there's a lot of them! We pray you are blessed, happy, and healthy. And please remember, OUR DOOR IS ALWAYS OPEN to visitors. Come on by!!! :)

Trip to Battle Creek to Visit Shelby, Lincoln, and Riley :)

Two years ago, we met Shelby, Ty, Lincoln (who was in Shelby's belly) and Riley at a mutual friend's birthday party. We haven't seen them since. It was such a special treat that at the end of the summer, we got to go to Battle Creek to visit them and spend the afternoon. Iwas horrible at taking pictures (I completely forgot) butthe kids got along fabulously and we are so blessed to call them our friends. It is so nice to have people on the same "ride" of life as you. I learn so much from other people and their experiences. This is yet another reason for us to move to Kalamazoo, since my BFF from high school lives there too :) Alas, we will have to stay here and just visit more often!!! ;)

McKenzie and Riley on the bug :)

Our favorite animal, the llama. He lost his pen buddy earlier this summer :( I think we should have brought him home with us.

Kylie saying "llama" in her own way :)
