5 Years

Just a few weeks after we started "hanging out" :) We were courting....

Shortly after our engagement :)

Five years ago tomorrow....We were cute! :) Of course, we still are :)

As you can see from our ticker above, it's been five years tomorrow since our wedding day :) I am so proud of us (yes, I am bragging) that we've reached the five year mark. There has been times that have been very tough, but overall, I think we're pretty strong :) We still have the occassional, "Why do you do that? I don't do that" fuss, but it's been a blast. If you would have asked me seven years ago if I ever would have thought I would be married and have two kids, I would have probably laughed at you :) But now, God has totally blessed me with a wonderful, caring, compassionate, strong, faithful, inventive, creative, awesome husband.

We are celebrating with a "day out". We are going to the Melting Pot (a fancy fondu restaurant) in Troy, then we are heading to a Shock game (my idea, of course!) :) and we have 5th row seats from the court! :) I am sooo excited. We're following the American trend of "stay-cations" :)

We just got this picture feom Rob's aunt. I think you'll see the resemblance between Rob's mom ans McKenzie at this age :) Definitely the "Clifton" genes :)

We've Been Busy!

As you can tell from the pics below, we've been a busy crowd here the past few weeks. We've taken trips to Ann Arbor with Grandma to go to Jungle Java (highly recommended!) and the mall....we've had friends over...McKenzie and Kylie have visited friends....we've made library trips, and a trip to the zoo with Kiki and "Joan-it" (Jonah) and Autumn. McKenzie is learning how to be more social. It's so hard when she's home with me all the time, but we're getting there. Next fall (2009), she'll start pre-school and then I am sure I'll never get her to slow down with making friends. It's been an awesome couple of weeks. We are unsure of Rob's status at Ford, but we are PRAISING GOD for provision. After nearly 2 years of no paid overtime (and intermittent if he did have to work over necessarily), he is back to working Saturdays! AND IT"S PAID!! Sure, it stinks for us only having one whole day to ourselves with him, and of course, he is working harder than ever, but this is a TRUE ANSWER TO PRAYER. We are grateful how God answers prayers so diligently. I know if I had billions of prayers to listen to today, I am not sure a couple in O-Town would be on my top priority list. I guess that's why God is God and I am not :) Yes, I stole that from Steven Curtis Chapman's song :) Have a GREAT day!!!

Kylie tries f-o-o-d!

Kylie has started on rice cereal. Daddy wanted to take a picture of this, but she is sooo cute when she eats! What a big girl!!! :)

Kylie's Tummy Time

Kylie has just started rolling A LOT lately. She goes from back to belly to back. She is doing mini-push-ups too. This is how cute she is, along with her sister being pure McKenzie. Even the doctor was amazed at her ability to do this so early! I think she just wants to keep up with big sister! We love Kylie soooo much. She is an amazing little girl.

Father's Day

We had a great Father's Day! This is my all-time favorite pic up top of Rob and the girls. We took daddy out to lunch at his favorite restaurant, then for ice cream at Cold Stone. Yummy! Then, we went grocery shopping at Costco and Meijer. What a fun day! Daddy spent the whole day with us, which we don't get to do very often. The second picture is the shirt that McKenzie and Kylie made Rob. I helped with the handwriting :)

A Summer Weekend

We visited Ohio this past weekend to spend some time with Rob's side of the family. We attended an open house on Sunday and spent quality time with grandparents and great-grandparents. It was fun. :) Here are some family pictures that I thought were cute. McKenzie was so good this weekend. :)
This morning, I was abnormally tired (maybe the 3.5 hour drive home?) and I brought McKenzie back into bed with me at 8:00. She was sooo awake that she wanted to sing. I wish I could have had it on video! She started singing "Tinkle tinkle little star....how I what are...up sky...like a diamond...tinkle tinkle little star." It was soooo cute! I just relish (or ketchup?) :) moments like that. My girls are wonderful. And so is my husband.
Another week begins....more later :)
